The Westword Music Showcase will return to the RiNo Art District this September, filling the area with music from local and national acts alike in the city’s longest-running celebration of the scene. From the first Showcase in LoDo in 1995 to big bashes in the Golden Triangle a decade later to our current festivals in RiNo, the Showcase has only gotten bigger and better. Friday's music events are all free and feature more than 50 of Denver’s best bands, live painting, interactive art and offerings from the best food trucks in the city.

The largest gathering of the summer is back for a second year in a row at Copper Mountain. Union Peak Festival celebrates the convergence of sport, community and art with three days of live music performances, interactive art installations and booths, sports demonstrations and community gatherings. The Athlete’s Mountain will celebrate a weekend of elevated pursuits with interactive demos and active meetups including golf clinics, group mountain bike rides, fly fishing casting clinics, sunrise yoga and more. Trail runners are also invited to challenge their high-altitude lung capacity by participating in the Summit Up, a run on the mountain that will test even the most seasoned sprinter.

Denver Art Museum celebrates Native American art and culture with the 33rd Annual Friendship Powwow & Native American Cultural Celebration. Join the local Native community and enjoy music and dance performances. The celebration includes artmaking opportunities, local Native organizations selling fry bread and Indian tacos, as well as vendors showcasing jewelry, art, crafts, clothing and more. At 11 a.m., the Grand Entry, where all the dancers dance collectively, begins inside the new Sie Welcome Center in Sturm Grand Pavilion.
